Emergency

🚨 13 Andalusians need a new home by 21 July

“Horse in Need” carries on – but we are facing a situation we cannot solve on our own.

We have to vacate the premises by 21 July. What happens after that to the horses that have not found a place by then is uncertain. That is exactly why we are turning to you.

More than ten years ago we came together to help horses in need. Five years ago we were able to rescue around 50 Andalusians from catastrophic conditions near Málaga and house them on a leased farm. Many of them were in a pitiful state – years of care, veterinary treatment and a lot of patience built them back up.

Today, 26 horses are still with us. Some have already been rehomed and are waiting for transport. But 13 still have no place to go.

The situation is serious. Recently, the horses' water supply was temporarily cut off in temperatures above 30 degrees. For days we supplied them with bottles and buckets. A 65-year-old mother travelled from Cádiz with her daughters just to help. Only after several visits to the authorities did the water run again.

What is needed now – and how you can help

🏡 Take in a horse

Do you have space and experience, or know someone who could take in a horse? Please contact us directly. These animals have been through a lot – they deserve a second chance.

💛 Donate

Even rehomed horses still need to be transported. And the remaining animals need feed and care every day. As a guide:

  • €500 covers alfalfa for one month – important for building the animals back up
  • €1,600 is the cost of one hay delivery – we currently need two per month
  • With 26 horses, basic feed alone quickly adds up to several thousand euros a month – and that does not even include the lease
